Cleo was painted during my Artist-in Residency in Orquevaux, France - a small town in the Champagne region. It is hard to capture the dreamlike quality of the surroundings in words, but I tried with each piece I painted...bits of the gold trim paint that etch the Chateau moldings, a sense of flow that was a constant, and the inescapable pattern that finds its way into all my work.  Cleo displays all of the hallmarks of this remarkable experience.
