I’ve been told that “Pathways” resembles a still-life.  In fact, it was a very loose and dream-like landscape, in that I was looking at the landscape but was not confined to painting what I saw.  With this piece, I intended to challenge my habit of placing intentional marks on the canvas, and instead let my brush do what it wanted.
